What is laser refractive surgery?
It is the group of surgical techniques that eliminate or minimize ocular refractive defects: myopia, far-sightedness or astigmatism. Normally the image penetrates the eye through the cornea and the lens until it is projected into the retina through a process called refraction. Then, from the retina, that image is transmitted to the brain thanks to the optic nerve. Therefore, when we have a refractive defect, the image is projected abnormally; we perceive the altered image and, as a consequence, we see it blurred.
