Precision

According to studies published by INTRALASE CORPORATION, corneal resection with laser is 100 times more precise than corneal resection carried out with conventional surgical blade mechanical microkeratomes when making the corneal flap, since the dimensions achieved are more homogenous, especially with respect to thickness. Laser also makes it possible to create a fine, quality flap, which means preserving a greater quantity of the corneal tissue, while at the same time increasing the range of dioptres and patients that may be treated with this type of refractive surgery.
